Empty Gesture - Brick Lane
This is the first in a series of artworks addressing the issues with artists self-promotion masquerading as charity and goodwill through public art pieces.
I have been painting this wall for several years, with each piece having a shelf life of around six months before refreshing the space.
The inspiration behind this particular slogan is from a response article. I discussed the hypocrisy of one of my paintings being painted over by another artist, then them complaining to a local news platform when I painted it back.
