The Old Hare & Hounds

Private Commission for a home that had a former life as a country village pub.

Pubs with animal names such as The Hare & Hounds are a clear reference to hunting and country pubs were pretty common. meeting spots. So this is more than likely where the name came from.

I used a classic gothic script - Texture, with a rampant hare and rampant hound either side.In heraldry the Hare/Rabbit represent rebirth or resurrection with its links to Spring. The Hound/Dog is a symbol of faithfulness and guardianship. Both I feel quite fitting with the buildings history and it’s new era as a family home.
